From Wheelchair to Open Roads: Robert's Wallke E-Bike Story

For more than two decades, I used a wheelchair. Today, I'm exploring country roads, taking on long-distance rides and making new memories with my family. My journey back to outdoor adventures has been full of unexpected milestones, and my Wallke e-bikes have become an important part of it.

A New Chapter After More Than 20 Years

For more than two decades, I relied on a wheelchair. Throughout those years, I continued physical therapy and worked hard to maintain my mobility.

In 2024, I decided to make another change. I started a high-protein diet and began looking for new ways to stay active.

To everyone's surprise, I started riding an electric bike.

What began as a new activity gradually became something much bigger. Riding gave me another way to spend time outdoors, challenge myself and enjoy the feeling of moving forward.

In April 2025, I reached a milestone I had worked towards for years: I started walking again.

Around that time, I also bought my first Wallke electric bike, the H7.

My First Wallke: The H7

When I purchased my Wallke H7, one of the things that impressed me most was the range offered by its 40Ah battery.

It opened up possibilities I hadn't imagined before. I could plan longer rides, spend more time outside and explore places beyond my usual routes.

Riding became part of my everyday life. Some days I would head out early in the morning. Other days, I would enjoy the quiet roads as the sun began to set.

I wasn't riding just to cover miles. I was riding for exercise, independence and the simple joy of discovering somewhere new.

Adding the Wallke H9 AWD to My Adventures

In September 2025, I added another electric bike to my collection: the Wallke H9 AWD.

Having two different e-bikes has given me more ways to enjoy riding.

My H7 remains a trusted companion for long-distance journeys. Its battery capacity and range have made it a favourite for spending extended time outdoors.

The H9 AWD brings a different riding experience. I enjoy its additional power and the confidence it gives me when setting out on new adventures.

One of the most meaningful parts of owning these two bikes is that my son can join me on rides.

Sharing the road, exploring new places together and creating family memories have made these experiences even more special.

Milestones Along the Way

Over the past months, my Wallke bikes have taken me on rides I once wouldn't have imagined.

Each journey has its own story. These are some of the moments that stand out to me.

• My first century ride: I completed 101.5 miles (about 163 km), travelling to Paducah, Kentucky, and back home.
• Exploring the countryside: I've enjoyed riding along country roads, discovering corn mazes and watching the landscapes change with the seasons.
• Long days on the bike: On many days, I've ridden more than 30 miles (48 km). One memorable adventure was a 47.4-mile (76 km) mountain trail ride between Kentucky Lake and Lake Barkley.
• Riding for a cause: During August, I rode more than 300 miles (483 km) while helping raise awareness of cancer research.
• Enjoying the little moments: Early morning rides, sunsets and peaceful back roads have become some of my favourite experiences.

More Than Just Getting From A to B

Looking back on my journey, the number of miles I've travelled is only part of the story.

There have been hot summer days, cooler mornings and countless stretches of quiet road.

Some rides have been about reaching a destination. Others have simply been about enjoying the experience of being outside.

What matters most to me is the opportunity to keep moving, exploring and spending time doing something I love.

My two Wallke e-bikes have become more than a means of transportation. They've become companions in a new chapter of my life.
